Last Saturday, while on my crusade to buy myself a pair of jeans that would accentuate my buttocks - Mission: Accomplished - I stumbled upon this quaint art gallery called Mazal Espacio de Arte.
I went in just to "look around" and found myself captivated by the art I found there. Most of all, I was enticed by the art pieces of Romero Britto. Like a moth to a flame, drawn by the fire (BZZZT! Zapped!) I was drawn to his piece entitled "Children of the World".
"Children of the World"35.5" wide, acrylic on paper
The one on display was a limited set (1 out of 7)
It shall be mine!
After much discussion with L. Peery (and much internet research), we were surprised to find that the art piece that I wanted was actually sold for such a low price (not going to tell you how much). This was because, despite the artist being well accomplished, his art pieces are not that expansive. To show you how well he's doing, among his achievements included:
- Commissioned by Absolut Vodka to design a bottle label for a company advertising campaign in 2003 named "absolut magon" - It sold at a rate of 10 bottles a second and is Absolut's best selling vodka by far.

- Spoke at the 2006 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland
- Appeared on NBC's "The Apprentice" and ABC's "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition"
- The recipient of the Florida Arts Recognition Award in 2004
- Declared as a Florida Ambassador of the Arts in 2005
- Commissioned to do art for BMW, Pepsi, Apple Computers, IBM, Volvo Car Design, Disney, Evian and many more.
